Quite often on the critical path of a turnaround is the replacement of brick tunnels. A typical brick tunnel in a steam methane reformer can take several days to tear down and replace. Blasch’s StaBloxTM tunnel system requires no mortar, is interlocking, has expansion joints built-in and does not require buttresses. These tunnels can be installed 15x faster than a standard brick tunnel. In one installation the operators were able to erect a full StaBlox tunnel in 3 hours.
